Peter will be visiting Yarm Gallery
on
Saturday 27th May
from
12 noon until 3 pm
Having launched his debut collection less than a year ago, Peter Smith has taken the art world by storm with his pieces selling out in record time. His subsequent works have proved equally as popular and he is now enjoying nationwide success with his naive and endearing characters.
We are therefore delighted to launch, from Washington Green, a brand new tour of Peter's work entitled "Tails Of The Unexpected". Peter's unique characters take on a life of their own in this exciting new collection and are sure to delight both new and existing collectors alike.
“Go on, ask her” said Alex, “No, you ask her you’re better at it than I am” said Mark sitting back down in his chair with a defiance he did not feel. Alex, obviously a shy person, shuffled over to the corner of the room where an attractive but slightly older girl was standing.
“Shall we dance?” Alex stuttered.
I was sitting a short distance away with my notepad, as usual, and very quickly sketched the scene. The following day with the image still fresh in my mind I started to paint ‘Shall We Dance?’; the first piece in my ‘Tails of The Unexpected’ collection.
Once again I open my world to you with nervous excitement; from the innocent exhilaration of ‘Scenes of Peril’ to the portrayal of a very un-cherubic ‘That Old Devil Called Love’ and many more. I have tried to capture so many scenes in my life with a passion, rendering it as familiar as arrestingly new. Enjoy!
Don’t forget to enter the competition when you purchase a piece from the collection!
